So what are the greatest movies from the
classic era of filmmaking from the first features to the 1960s ? Movie
lists cover all of film history and try to compare modern blockbusters
with classic films. What about a list of just films of the classic era
?
There are many movie
rating/ranking
sites on the net including the granddaddy of them all the Internet
Movie Database. This is the first to cover just classic movies or
specifically feature films made between 1915 and 1965 including those
dates. Its possible to rate and/or review, comment on any feature made
during those years.
Feel free to get rating and reviewing by
clicking
on the rating pages below arranged by year.
On each page you can rate any of the
titles out of 10, please no 0s or
bigger numbers, I will remove any dodgy votes.
Votes should register in the system
immediately after clicking on
submit form. The figures
below each title on each page are the total votes and the average out
of 10.
There is a link on each page for reviews
and comments on the movies of
that year/years. Please make the film you are referring to clear if you
are reviewing a specific title.
CLASSIC MOVIES REVIEW AND RATING DATABASE
Below you can check what movies are in
the database. I have selected 200 titles as a starting point. You can
search by title, year, director and genre. At first this list will be
displayed with the titles in chronological order, as votes are
submitted I hope to update this periodically to display from the
highest to the lowest average/ %.
If you want to add another movie
you can enter it in the form below the table, remember it has to be a
feature film made between 1915 and 1965. You have to fill in the title
and the year (if you are unsure of this try a rough guess). I have made
year a mandatory field because some titles have multiple versions and
this usually clarifies the one you mean. As with the rating pages your
title should appear immediately here but you won't be able to vote for
it just yet. I will set up a vote for it when I can and it will be
available for voting when the Director and Genre fields are filled
up.
